2022 Ford F-150 Lightning

You can choose from four trims of the 2022 F-150 Lightning: the Pro, XLT, Lariat, and upscale Platinum. The Lightning is a handsome pickup truck. The front has a refined look with vertically stacked headlights and an LED light strip that frames the front grille plate. You'll find the Lightning has four doors and comes as a SuperCrew cab configuration with a 5-foot-5-inch bed. Under the hood of the 2022 Lightning is Ford's Mega Power Frunk. Because there's no traditional engine that would normally sit under the hood, the frunk becomes a place to store gear and supplies. The Mega Power Frunk provides up to 14.1 cubic feet of storage space and has a payload capacity of 400 pounds.

You can choose from two variations of the 2022 F-150 Lightning based on the battery pack size. This pickup truck comes with two electric motors that mate with a battery pack. The standard battery pack provides a driving range of approximately 230 miles before needing a recharge. If you plan on driving long distances, you'll want to choose the extended-range battery pack that will give you about 300 miles of driving. With the standard battery and two electric motors, you get 426 horsepower and a massive 775 pound-feet of torque. When you have the extended-range version, the output increases to 563 horsepower. The torque rating stays the same. A single-speed transmission completes the powertrain.

You'll notice how well the F-150 Lightning handles with its independent double-wishbone front suspension system with coil-over shocks. The rear has an independent semi-trailing arm rear suspension system. Both the front and rear get stabilizer bars. All-wheel drive comes standard across the lineup, and when properly equipped, this mighty pickup truck can tow up to 10,000 pounds with a payload capacity of 2,000 pounds.

With two rows of seats, up to five people can ride in the F-150 Lightning. Vinyl seats come standard on the Pro trim and cloth seats on the XLT, while the Lariat and Platinum get leather upholstery. You can use the interior of this pickup truck as a workstation when you stow the shifter and use the center console as a table. In addition, the seats fold flat so you can take a power nap when needed. All trims come with Ford's Sync 4 infotainment system. The two lower trims have a 12-inch touch screen and the two upper models have a large 15-inch portrait-oriented display. The refined Platinum trim comes with a premium Bang & Olufsen sound system and a twin-panel moonroof.
